The average age of our residents is low, 39,5 years old. This is strongly tied to the fact that we are a university city. In Linköping, our residents also have a high level of education; 34,3 per cent have a college and/or university education.

Linköping's business sector consists of the aviation industry with advanced information and communications technology, a strong commercial sector as well as green industries and environmental technology. The city is a commuter hub in the region and is close to both global markets and the rest of the world through its own airport near the city centre.
